The Gods' Fool

Synopsis

Sixteen gods descended to the human world, tearing the world into countless fragments, transforming them into a life-or-death chessboard called the "Game of Faith." Humans became players, forced to enter bizarre instances every seven days, struggling to survive within the rules set by the gods. Cheng Shi, trapped on a rooftop in a desperate situation at the start, first believed in fate, then succumbed to deception, becoming a clown priest whose every word was a lie. The price was being plagued by misfortune, but his ability was to turn fiction into reality with lies. He used his silver tongue to deceive his teammates and manipulate the gods, running a tightrope between "faith" and "betrayal," rising from a pawn to become the one wielding the pieces. Opposing destinies, sixteen faiths, and six professions combine to create endless gameplay; the instances have diverse themes, the rules are fraught with danger, and the battles of wits and reversals are nested layer upon layer. This is the ultimate game of free will versus destiny—when the pawns begin to awaken, the gods must step down. (Source: iQIYI, translated)
